Poop

My mother is incontinent. She also, since her strokes, lacks a sense of smell. She managed to have an incident in the car today. When she got home, she went directly to her bathroom while I went to get her something from Starbucks. The stench when I got home was horrible. She has sprays in her bathroom, but because she has anosmie she won't use them. I nearly vomited.

The dogs are both on antibiotics. The boy tends to poop in the house when he's not feeling well.

I have over the past several days picked up so much doggy doodoo that I refused to floss my teeth. I feel filthy even though I am obviously washing my hands thoroughly multiple times a day.

My whole world seems to revolve around foul smells. Those of you who know me in real life know that I'm a supertaster and I'm also very sensitive to smells of any sort. [When I was 12, I was in my bedroom on the fifth floor of our house with the door closed. I found my dad asleep in our family room on the third floor-- perhaps passed out -- because I had smelled gas. The oven pilot light had gone out. Seriously, I smelled gas through two closed doors two floors away; that's how sensitive my nose is.]. This situation depresses me.

That does sound like an unfortunate situation.
