Un Ballo in Maschera

There was a free event called Opera in the Outfield today where the matinee of Un Ballo in Maschera was simulcast to Nationals stadium.

I was positive I'd seen it before, but didn't recognize a single piece. A little Google-fu led me to find out, that I'd confused it with a completely different opera by Ponchielli rather than this one by Verdi. Still, I now know the names of all the operas I saw during Wolf Trap's Opera week in 1974 (Aida on Monday, Madama Butterfly on Tuesday, Norma on Wednesday, La Gioconda on Thursday, and a Saturday matinee of The Marriage of Figaro).

I enjoyed it. I tend to like Verdi operas. The entire cast came out in Nationals caps for the curtain call at the end which was fun, too.
