Teddy Roosevelt...Rough Rider, National Parks, Mt. Rushmore. 'Nuff said. Zachary who? (Yes, I know he was a President..but that's about it).
Speaking of 'Presidents on our Money'..I watched Ken Burns' "The Civil War" on DVD not too long ago, and the next time I had to check a $50 bill to make sure if was okay, it was like..."Wow...Grant!" because they used the same image on the bill in the series a lot. Good General, not so good President.
Apparently, they're doing a whole presidential series! I didn't know that. So, it was just luck that I got Zachary Taylor and not Millard Fillmore. They're doing 4 a year like the quarters, so I should get Teddy in 2012 or 13. Have a look out for an Adams one...
I didn't know that either. We don't see a lot of the $1.00 coins at work, but I'm glad they changed them from silver to gold, because I think quite a few people handed them over thinking they were quarters. But it will be interesting to see them as they come out.
And the quarters series branched out to the U.S. possessions, like Guam and The Virgin Islands. Nice to see our tax dollars hard at work!
There was a controversy over the DC quarter. They didn't want the District's motto ("Taxation without Representation") on it because it was "too political." I didn't think a fact could be political. LOL
They won; it's something innocuous with Duke Ellington.

How about Harry Truman, or John Adams....
