LOL Back away slowly? Oh dear. Is Slash armed? :-p Teasing, since I tend to feel that way about Ship. ;)

Anyway. Well said. :) And I thought I was the only one of my friends who didn't like fic on LJ. *G* For me, it's not just the difficulty in searching or the divisions created within fandoms, but it's a lack of visual appeal. I prefer to read fic that is formatted specifically for the reader, like a website or archive is intended to do. :)

I'm also a bit picky about this medium. It's good for everything except literature. I understand that not everyone has an archive or a website, but I think posting stories here is a bit, well, lazy. I don't mean bad or negative, just lazy (as a matter of convenience, catering to society's addiction to instant gratification). The fandom comms are here, the friends are here, and others have chosen LJ (over Yahoo lists) to announce updates. That's all fine, but it's just sad that it has to be lumped here as one source. Granted, many people post both here and on their website, but for me, that seems a little pointless. Plus, if editing is needed, changes to the story are far easier to make on the website than they are on LJ.
